Aurora Gaming has finally entered VALORANT, and it did not start with an unknown roster. Its new team brings together Derke, trexx and Boo, alongside B1SK and chiwa, for the 2027 competitive season. The announcement appeared on October 28, just ahead of the first European VCT open qualifier.
The names are familiar to anyone who followed VCT EMEA in recent years. But there is an important catch: Aurora has signed a serious lineup without receiving a place in Riot Games' partnered league. It must qualify for Kickoff before those players can compete on that stage together.
Aurora Gaming's full VALORANT roster for 2027
The five confirmed players are Nikita 'Derke' Sirmitev of Finland, Nikita 'trexx' Cherednichenko of Russia, Ričardas 'Boo' Lukaševičius of Lithuania, Egor 'chiwa' Stepanyuk of Russia, and Vitaliy 'B1SK' Emelyanov of Russia.
Derke is the headline arrival. The former Fnatic and Team Vitality duelist has won international trophies and reached the VALORANT Champions Shanghai final in October 2026. Boo spent several seasons leading Team Heretics and built a reputation for managing high-pressure matches. trexx arrives after competing with Team Liquid, bringing more established EMEA experience to the lineup.
B1SK and chiwa give the team a different kind of question to answer. They have played in the European Challengers scene, but this group has not yet shown how its roles and communication will work in official matches. A recognisable roster is not automatically a balanced roster.
Aurora's own announcement simply presented the names and said that a new chapter was beginning. A second social post from the organisation has also circulated on Instagram. Both are better sources for the signing than edits or supposed 'leaked' roster graphics.
Why Derke and trexx together is interesting
Both players previously represented Team Vitality. Their reunion gives Aurora two competitors who understand the pace of top-level EMEA play, though team chemistry will need to be earned rather than assumed.
Derke is known for creating openings as an aggressive duelist. trexx has experience in different compositions and can support the team's attacking structure. Boo is the obvious veteran voice, but Aurora has not published a detailed role assignment for every map. Any definitive agent-role chart circulating now should be treated as an early prediction, not a confirmed team sheet.
The roster is also new. Even highly experienced players need practice time to agree on calls, defaults and how to respond when the opening plan fails.

When will Aurora play in VCT EMEA 2027 qualifiers?
Riot's revised format is the reason this team exists now. VCT EMEA Kickoff in 2027 has eight partnered teams and four open-qualifier entries. Europe receives two qualifying spots, with additional routes for Türkiye and the Middle East and North Africa.
The official Europe schedule lists Qualifier 1 beginning November 5 and Qualifier 2 beginning November 12. The European qualifier playoffs start November 26. Two teams from those playoffs progress to VCT EMEA Kickoff, scheduled for January 14, 2027.
That means a November qualifier is not the same thing as a secured VCT partnership or even a guaranteed Kickoff appearance. Aurora must first survive the open bracket, where an early mistake could spoil months of planning.
Riot says the new system is intended to give non-partner teams genuine access to major events, including a route through Kickoff, Cups and later international competition. Non-partner teams reaching eligible VCT stages can also receive fixed qualification payments. The financial support matters, but it comes after sporting results, not simply from signing popular players.

What Aurora's announcement says about the 2027 season
The timing is part of the story. Several experienced EMEA players became available as organisations reviewed their 2027 plans. Aurora moved quickly to sign a complete roster ahead of registration. CEO Adalyat Mamedov said the deals were completed unusually fast, with negotiations continuing close to the deadline.
The wider reshuffle has also affected established names such as NAVI, whose previous VALORANT lineup was released after changes to the partnership system. That makes the open qualifiers far more interesting than a routine route for unknown teams. Established professionals and developing talent could meet long before the top league begins.
There is also an angle for Indian fans. Riot's 2027 open system includes a South Asia qualifier pathway in the Pacific region. That is separate from Aurora's European route, but it shows how the new format may create more opportunities outside existing partner organisations.
Can Aurora qualify with this roster?
On paper, Aurora has the experience to trouble strong European opposition. Derke provides international firepower, Boo brings leadership and trexx adds flexibility. But the two remaining players must settle into the system quickly, and the team has little margin for slow starts.
The first meaningful verdict will not come from social-media reactions. It will come from results after the November 5 qualifier begins. Until then, the most accurate headline is that Aurora has entered VALORANT with a high-profile roster, not that it has already joined the VCT EMEA partnered league.
