PUBG Global Series 12 begins in Shanghai on October 29, but the $300,000 prize pool is only part of the story. This is the final event in the 2026 PUBG Global Series season. By Sunday night, the annual points table will be locked, and eight teams will have secured their places at the PUBG Global Championship through the PGS route.
That makes this a different kind of final. A team can score well and still miss out if a rival does better. Even qualified teams have a reason to chase every elimination: the final standings affect their world championship seeding.
PGS 12 dates, prize money and India match times
The four-day tournament is being played in Shanghai, China, from October 29 to November 1. The Survival Stage takes place on Thursday, while the three-day Grand Finals run from Friday to Sunday. KRAFTON lists the daily competitive start at 10:00 UTC, which is 3:30 PM IST for Indian viewers.
The tournament features 24 participating teams in the circuit. Its prize pool is $300,000, with $100,000 awarded to the champion under the official 2026 rulebook. That is separate from the full $500,000 prize allocation for Circuit 4, which also includes PGS 10 and PGS 11.

Why only 16 teams reach the Grand Finals
The first eight finalists do not need to survive Thursday at all. Their combined performances in PGS 10 and PGS 11 earned them direct places in the PGS 12 Grand Finals.
The other 16 teams must play five Survival Stage matches for the remaining eight berths. Teams finishing ninth to sixteenth on Thursday are eliminated from the circuit final. For them, the weekend ends before the biggest prize-money matches even begin.
Once the final lobby is set, the 16 surviving teams play 15 Grand Finals matches across October 30, October 31 and November 1. Every good rotation matters, but so does the ability to turn a top-four position into eliminations rather than simply hiding for placement points.
The biggest fight is for the PUBG Global Championship
KRAFTON reserves eight PUBG Global Championship 2026 berths for the highest teams in the season-long PGS Points standings. These are qualification places through PGS, not the entire 32-team world championship field. Other teams qualify through regional pathways and separate allocations.
The system is intentionally weighted towards the business end of the year. PGS 12 awards twice the PGS Points of either PGS 10 or PGS 11. The winner collects 120 season points; the runner-up takes 96. That means a strong performance now can overturn leads that looked comfortable a month ago.
There is another reward for finishing higher. Under the published qualification structure, the team that finishes first in annual PGS Points moves straight into the PGC Grand Finals. Second place enters at a later Survival Stage, while the teams ranked third to eighth begin in the qualifying phase. All eight make the world championship, but they do not start on equal footing.

The earlier PGS standings graphic comes from KRAFTON’s October 8 announcement, before PGS 10 and 11. It is not a live October 29 leaderboard. The graphic immediately above instead explains how points and world championship seeding work.
Team Liquid, Virtus.pro and T1 arrive with momentum
The last two circuit events show why this final is difficult to predict. Virtus.pro won PGS 10 in Shanghai. A week later, Team Liquid won PGS 11 with 88 points after securing the final match, while T1 finished second on 84. Those are meaningful results, but PGS 12 offers more prize money and double the season points.
Liquid has demonstrated that it can close a tournament under pressure. T1 was only four points behind at PGS 11, which is almost nothing over a ten-match final. Virtus.pro has been consistently dangerous across the 2026 circuit. None of that guarantees a win once the 16-team Grand Finals lobby is formed.
A squad outside the year-long top eight may need a high-risk finish. A team defending its qualification place might play conservatively, but too few eliminations can allow a rival to pass.
How to watch PGS 12 and claim its free drops
The official PUBG Esports schedule lists the Survival Stage for October 29 and the Grand Finals for October 30–November 1, beginning at 3:30 PM IST. The global PUBG Esports channels carry the competitive broadcast.
KRAFTON is also running limited in-game rewards during the Grand Finals broadcast, but the drops have specific conditions. Watch for 30 minutes on the eligible Twitch or Kick channels to receive the Get Out of My Way spray, or 60 minutes for the 2026 PGS Pristine nameplate.
Drops run from October 30 through November 1 during the scheduled 10:00–15:00 UTC broadcast window. Players need a KRAFTON Player Account linked to their game platform and the streaming account they use. Rewards must be claimed before November 22 at 14:59 UTC. Watching a replay on YouTube does not qualify for these particular Twitch/Kick drops.

What this means for Indian PUBG fans
This is the PC version of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, not BGMI or PUBG Mobile. That distinction matters when comparing its international circuit with India’s mobile esports tournaments. PGS 12 decides part of the route to the PC world championship in Istanbul, not qualification for PMGC or another mobile event.
The main appeal is the stakes. The PUBG Global Series has stretched across twelve tournaments this year, but the last four days carry an outsized share of the pressure. By November 1, one team will have the PGS 12 trophy and eight teams will know they made it to the season’s biggest stage through PGS Points. Everyone else will be left counting the moments that slipped away.
