Rockstar has revealed six of the radio stations that will shape Grand Theft Auto VI's soundscape, from returning Vice City pop radio to Latin music, metal and regional southern hip-hop. That is a more useful announcement than a speculative list of hundreds of songs. Players can now see the musical identity Rockstar is building for Leonida, but they still cannot look up a complete radio catalogue or every track that will appear in the finished game.

The timing matters. GTA VI is scheduled for November 19, 2026, and the music is being marketed as part of the launch rather than an afterthought. Rockstar also announced a separate 34-track official album with Atlantic Records. The album and the in-game radio stations serve different purposes, and treating every album single as a confirmed radio song would be a mistake.

These are the six stations named in Rockstar's current music preview. The site introduces each station with its musical direction and sample audio. It does not say that only six stations exist. In fact, the developer describes a wider selection of music and talk programming across Leonida. A preview is not a final track list, however often search results present it as one.

Flash FM's return connects two Vice Cities

Flash FM will be the most immediately familiar name to people who played the original Vice City. It was part of the game's identity: getting into a car and hearing the city through songs rather than mission dialogue. Its inclusion in GTA VI acknowledges that history, but the new version is not simply the same old playlist. Rockstar describes the 2026 Flash FM as pop programming with Robyn and Alex. The new city belongs to a different time, and the station has to work for players who never visited the original one.

The other stations reveal a more expansive idea of Leonida. Cocoteo's Latin focus and Afro Bank FM's dance sounds reflect contemporary music scenes. Back Country, The Chamber and Dirty South Classics serve very different parts of the region and its imagined culture. None of these genres is a guarantee that every related real-world artist appears in the finished soundtrack.

The official album is not the complete radio soundtrack

Rockstar's September announcement described Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album as 34 original tracks, releasing on November 19 in partnership with Atlantic Records. The early singles include contributions from Yung Lean, Travis Scott, PinkPantheress and other artists. That list is useful for understanding the game's musical partnerships, but it does not automatically confirm that every album track is selectable on an in-game station.

There is also a separate dynamic score associated with Justice. A game score responds to action and atmosphere differently from radio: music may change during a chase or a story sequence even when the player is nowhere near a vehicle. Keeping those categories separate helps explain why Rockstar can announce an album, station previews and score information at different times without contradiction.

What players can check before launch

The official Rockstar music page is the best starting point. It lets readers see the names, hosts and sound of the previewed stations without relying on unattributed fan spreadsheets. Fans should be sceptical of posts claiming a final station count or full track list unless those details are explicitly traced to Rockstar or in-game evidence after launch.

For Indian players, the practical issue is not that a physical radio needs to be tuned. These stations are built into the game world; they are part of its atmosphere and presumably its driving experience. Streaming-service access to the official album is a separate product, and any region-specific music restrictions should be checked on the relevant platform rather than guessed from the game's release date.

Why radio is still central to GTA

A Rockstar open world is full of incidental stories. Cars pass, pedestrians argue, billboards make jokes and radio hosts describe the fictional society from within it. The soundtrack makes those small moments feel connected. When a game lets someone spend long stretches travelling between missions, songs can define the memory of a place as strongly as the main plot.

GTA VI's preview suggests Rockstar understands that. Six named stations already cover several cultural and musical directions, while the album offers a different window into the production. The full picture will come when players can actually drive through Leonida and hear what the game's radio has kept secret.
