Rockstar's next Grand Theft Auto is less than a month away, and Indian players finally have firm prices rather than rumours. GTA 6 is listed for ₹5,999 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. That price is steep, especially if you're buying a console just for the game. There are also two details worth knowing before paying: the box sold as a physical copy will not contain a disc, and some pre-order extras come with a subscription that renews automatically.
GTA 6 price in India: Standard vs Ultimate Edition
The Indian PlayStation Store lists Standard Edition at ₹5,999 and Ultimate Edition at ₹7,499. Microsoft's Indian Xbox store shows the same starting prices. These are current digital storefront listings, not guesses about what retailers might charge.
Standard Edition includes the full single-player game. Ultimate adds a separate upgrade containing vehicles, weapons, clothing and other extras for Jason and Lucia's story. Rockstar says those items are unlocked across the campaign rather than all appearing immediately.
If you're wondering whether you need Ultimate to experience the story, the answer is no. The complete game is in Standard. Ultimate's ₹1,500 premium buys extras, not a different main campaign.
GTA 6 release date and Indian launch timing
Rockstar says Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The consoles' store pages may show November 18 in UTC because of regional time conversion. For Indian readers, use Rockstar's announced November 19 date as the official launch date rather than treating a UTC listing as a separate earlier release.
Pre-loading begins November 12 at local midnight. That means eligible buyers can download files ahead of launch, though pre-loading is not early access to gameplay.
No PC launch date has been announced. There is also no PS4 or Xbox One version. If you see an advertisement promising a confirmed Windows release in November, check it against Rockstar's platform page before spending anything.
The physical GTA 6 box does not have a game disc
This is the detail most likely to surprise collectors. Rockstar's support page says the retail physical version contains a digital download code inside the box, not a disc. The code can be redeemed to download the game, and physical copies are expected at retailers from November 12 to allow pre-loading.
Buying a box therefore won't let you install GTA 6 entirely from a disc. You'll still need sufficient internet access and storage to download the game. Rockstar has not supplied a final download-size figure in the sources checked for this article, so avoid viral claims of an exact number of gigabytes.
Codes also have regional rules. Rockstar advises buying from a seller that matches the country of your platform account. This matters for anyone planning to import a boxed copy from another market.
What do GTA 6 pre-order bonuses include?
Rockstar lists a Vintage Vice City Pack for eligible early purchases. It includes a 1955 Vapid Stanier sedan and garage, hairstyles and outfits, and an exclusive weapon pattern. Digital buyers who purchase before November 20 are also eligible for a month of GTA+ under the stated conditions.
On the Indian PlayStation page, the GTA+ promotion is shown with an auto-renewal warning. Read the subscription terms rather than assuming the bonus is a permanently free membership. Rockstar also lists the option to buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade later, so you don't have to pay the extra ₹1,500 today just to keep that possibility open.
Can you play GTA 6 offline, and is GTA Online included?
PlayStation's listing describes GTA 6 as a single-player experience, with offline play enabled. The store also mentions optional in-game purchases. This does not amount to an official release date for a separate GTA 6 online mode, so those two things should not be confused.
Rockstar's October 15 launch trailer focuses on Jason and Lucia, whose planned robbery goes wrong and pulls them into a criminal conspiracy across Leonida. You can watch the official trailer on Rockstar's website rather than relying on unofficial gameplay uploads.
Should Indian players pre-order now?
If you already own a PS5 or Series X|S and know you'll play at launch, the official digital stores are the clearest option. The current Indian price is ₹5,999 for Standard, and the extra content in Ultimate is optional.
For everyone else, there is no need to race into the more expensive version. Check storage requirements when Rockstar publishes them, inspect the GTA+ terms, and remember that a retail box still means a download.
Above all, stick to official storefronts. With one of the most anticipated launches in years so close, fake early-access downloads and suspiciously cheap keys are an avoidable risk.
