NVIDIA has introduced a longer GeForce NOW subscription in India, and the attractive part of the announcement fits in two prices: ₹3,499 for four months of Performance and ₹6,999 for four months of Ultimate. The less obvious detail is what you actually receive. Cloud gaming replaces a powerful gaming PC for supported games and devices, but it does not give you a new library of paid games, unlimited hours or a guarantee that a weak connection will feel as responsive as local hardware.

The plans launched October 29, 2026, alongside the week's additions to the GeForce NOW catalogue. If you already subscribe monthly and use the service regularly, the savings are straightforward. If you play once every few weeks, the cheaper price per month can still lead to more spending than you would otherwise have made.

₹3,499 Performance versus ₹6,999 Ultimate

Performance costs ₹3,499 upfront for four months, equivalent to ₹874.75 per month. Against the reported ₹999 monthly tier, four separate months would cost ₹3,996; the bundled plan saves ₹497. Ultimate costs ₹6,999 upfront, or ₹1,749.75 per month, compared with ₹1,999 monthly. Four individual months cost ₹7,996, making the saving ₹997. Those numbers assume you would otherwise pay for all four months.

Performance supports streaming up to 1440p at 60 frames per second and a maximum six-hour session under the currently published plan details. Ultimate raises the ceiling with RTX 5080-class cloud hardware, up to 5K resolution at 360fps in supported configurations, and sessions of up to eight hours. The words 'up to' matter: your display, connection, device, game settings and the service's hardware profile determine what can actually be delivered. Buying Ultimate does not turn a 60Hz phone into a 360Hz screen.

Both tiers are reported to have a 100-hour monthly playtime limit. A session limit and a monthly limit measure different things. A six-hour session does not mean you are only allowed six hours across the month, but the overall allowance still matters if you stream for several hours every day. Before subscribing, check the current NVIDIA India terms for how time is counted, rollover rules, and what happens when a cap is reached. Subscription rules can change more quickly than this article's price examples.

Do you get games included with GeForce NOW?

Not automatically. GeForce NOW primarily streams compatible games you already own or have access to through connected stores such as Steam and the Epic Games Store, along with supported free-to-play titles. Paying the subscription does not buy Phantom Blade Zero, Cyberpunk 2077 or every game shown in NVIDIA's marketing images.

This distinction is particularly important for a new buyer who sees an expensive title promoted during a membership announcement. The actual total cost may include the subscription, the game itself and the network connection needed to stream it. Check that the exact edition you own is supported on the store account you plan to connect. DLC and mods may behave differently from a local Windows installation.

Can it replace a gaming PC in India?

For a compatible laptop with modest graphics hardware, cloud gaming can provide access to a demanding PC game without the expense of upgrading a GPU. That is the appealing part of the service. It can also let a person continue a supported game away from a desktop, assuming the display and input methods are supported. But network latency and stability are not an afterthought in competitive or timing-sensitive games. A connection that looks fast in a download test can still suffer jitter and packet loss that make aiming or parrying feel wrong.

Before paying for four months, check the data usage you can afford, your router's consistency, any local server availability information, whether your provider's network routes efficiently to the service, and the supported browser or app for your device. A short trial on the equipment you actually own is more informative than a marketing benchmark measured in a different city. For households sharing Wi-Fi in the evening, performance can vary substantially even on a nominally fast broadband plan.

Which plan is worth buying?

Performance makes sense for someone whose screen tops out near 1080p or 1440p and who wants strong cloud access without paying for visual settings their display cannot show. Ultimate is better suited to users with capable high-refresh or high-resolution displays, strong networking and an actual need for its more demanding rendering options. Neither is a good four-month commitment for somebody who has not checked whether their favourite games work on the service.

The most useful feature of the new plans is flexibility in payment duration for committed users. A regular four-month player saves ₹497 or ₹997; an occasional player may save nothing. GeForce NOW can remove the need to buy a top-end local GPU for some gaming habits, but it cannot remove the need to understand the game licence, the connection and the subscription terms. Those details decide whether the offer is a bargain in India.
