There is a clear answer to the rumour that Ubisoft has quietly lined up remakes of the first Assassin's Creed and the Ezio games. It has not. In its October 29 franchise update, Ubisoft said there is no other Assassin's Creed remake actively in development following Black Flag Resynced. That is narrower than saying the company will never revisit those games, and wider than the idea that several unannounced remakes are merely waiting for reveal trailers.
The statement arrives after Ubisoft released Black Flag Resynced, its rebuilt version of the pirate adventure, in July. That game's reception helped the company learn what a remake involves: rebuilding systems and environments, choosing what to preserve and deciding which modern features belong in an old adventure. Ubisoft says the door to more remakes is still open. The problem for fans is timing. An open door is not a release roadmap.
No AC1 or Ezio remake is confirmed
The original Assassin's Creed still has an extraordinary premise: an assassin moving through a politically charged historical world, with stealth and public crowds at its centre. Assassin's Creed II and the Ezio trilogy remain among the franchise's most beloved stories. Both are obvious remake candidates in fan conversations. But as of Ubisoft's October 29 statement, the studio says none is actively being developed as another remake.
That should end one specific kind of misleading article: 'Assassin's Creed 1 remake leaked, release date coming soon' without a source. It does not mean the old games can never be reissued, remastered or rebuilt. Ubisoft explicitly says it will keep exploring possibilities. Those are different production commitments and deserve different labels.
Valhalla gets the big surprise on November 5
The same franchise update contains news that players can actually use next week. Assassin's Creed Valhalla receives New Game+ on November 5, after surpassing 40 million players according to Ubisoft's cumulative figure. The update lets players replay Eivor's journey while retaining much of their progression. An optional system combines Gear, Runes and Masteries into Power, with new runes, achievements, storage and a Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe from Shadows.
The developer also names Mithril as a new upgrade resource and says Divine Gear quality becomes available to all items. Ubisoft is still preparing full patch notes, so players should not assume every item, quest flag or story choice carries forward identically. A New Game+ setting that retains equipment can change how combat feels but may not preserve every completed activity. Check the final notes before starting a new run on a character you care about.
Hexe and Invictus remain different bets
Codename Hexe is the darker single-player project that has prompted theories for years. Ubisoft says development is continuing but has not shared a release date; its next major update is planned for 2027. Anyone presenting a 2026 gameplay launch as confirmed is getting ahead of the company.
Invictus, meanwhile, is a multiplayer experiment. Ubisoft says hundreds of players tried an early prototype in private testing. Feedback praised parkour, map verticality and teamwork, but the team also heard that it needed more of the features people associate with Assassin's Creed. That is an unusually revealing production note. A multiplayer Assassin's Creed cannot survive solely by attaching familiar outfits to a competitive arena; movement, stealth and the way players interact with an environment must feel recognizably Assassin's Creed.
The franchise's Netflix live-action series is also progressing, with production nearing completion in Rome, according to Ubisoft. No date has been committed. These projects share a brand, not a single release schedule, so there is no reason to bundle them into one invented 'Assassin's Creed 2027 launch'.
The most useful conclusion is more specific. Valhalla players have a date and tangible features. Hexe fans have a year for the next substantial update. Invictus is still being shaped by testing. And fans of older Assassin's Creed adventures have been told plainly that another remake is not presently in production. Ubisoft has provided enough detail for a serious article without needing to manufacture a secret game.
